Yes Working Out Can Cause Acne

Though there are many ways that we can minimize acne symptoms, working out can in fact cause acne. There are a variety of reasons why working out can cause acne but in essence, working out can contribute to an increase of oil on the skin which can clog hair follicles and cause acne.

What Causes Acne

Working out in itself does not cause acne. Acne is caused by the hair follicles on our skin becoming clogged with oil or dead skin. This can be aggravated by an increase of oil on your skin from working out. There are many other factors that may cause the development of acne.

There is no need to give up working out when looking to reduce acne symptoms. Before making drastic changes consider that stress, hormone changes, medication and for some people diet can all contribute to acne production.
