Endovenous laser vein treatments are a minimally invasive, outpatient procedure and an alternative to surgical vein removal.

This treatment is recommended when the veins in question are larger and/or more advanced. Skin laser therapy treats the vein from the outside of your skin but as the name implies endovenous laser treatments are done inside the malfunctioning vein.

This treatment uses heat to damage the walls of the veins letting the body then naturally absorb the dead tissue.

Benefits of Endovenous Laser Treatment (ELVT)

No recovery time after

No scarring

Minimally invasive treatment

Significant cosmetic appearance improvement

Outpatient procedure

Immediate return to normal activity

98% effective

Improved circulation

What to expect of the ELVT Procedure?

Before the procedure:
You may be required to complete an ultrasound imaging exam of the affected area. The exam is an integral part in assessing the diseased vein and planning the procedure and is virtually painless.

During the procedure:
Local anesthetic is administered. Once the area is numb, a thin laser fiber will be inserted into the vein through a very small entry point. While you might feel an unfamiliar sensation, it is not painful. This part of the procedure takes just a few minutes. Laser energy will be delivered to seal the faulty vein. The body reabsorbs the blood vessels, which have been destroyed, and the flow of blood is directed back down into the deeper vessels, where it should be.

After the procedure:
Your post-treatment care will be tailored to your needs. Unless otherwise stated you can return to normal activity immediately after the procedure. The swelling and discomfort associated with chronic venous insufficiency will diminish quickly while the bulging veins will noticeably improve over time.

VARICOSE VEIN

COMPRESSION SOCKS

COMPRESSION VEIN

Why must you wear compression stockings post treatment?

Compression stockings (or socks) are a specially designed elastic hosiery that support healthy blood circulation.

They reduce the diameter of distended veins and increase venous blood flow velocity and valve effectiveness.

Compression therapy helps decrease venous pressure, prevents venous stasis and impairments of venous walls, and relieves heavy and aching legs.

Choosing the right size and compression level for your stocking (or socks) is crucial to feel as comfortable as possible and to take advantage of all the benefits they provide.

We measure and fit each client individually to ensure optimal treatment results.

It’s important to keep in mind self-care treatments will not change the look of varicose veins. If you do not respond to self-care or if your condition is more severe your next step would be to consult a vascular surgeon.

We are one of the only cosmetic clinics in the GTA with a vascular surgeon on their team.
